Privacy policy
Last updated: 30 June 2026
The short version
What's My House Worth is built so you can get a UK sales or lettings valuation without handing over your identity. We don't ask for your name, email or phone number to run a valuation, and we don't pass your details to estate agents, lenders or brokers.
Who we are
This site is operated by the team behind What's My House Worth ("we", "us"). If you need to reach us about privacy, please use the contact form.
What we collect
When you use the valuation tool, we store:
- The postcode and address you select or type.
- The property details you enter (bedrooms, property type, valuation type).
- The valuation we generated for that search.
- Standard technical logs (timestamp, basic request data) used to keep the service running and prevent abuse.
If you message us through the contact form, we also store the name, email and message you submit so we can reply.
What we don't collect
- We don't require an account, email or phone number to value a property.
- We don't share your search with estate agents, mortgage brokers or lead-gen firms.
- We don't sell personal data.
Why we store searches
We keep an anonymous record of postcodes and addresses searched so we can improve the model, spot bad data and understand demand across the UK. These records are not tied to your identity.
Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies and may use privacy-friendly analytics to understand aggregate usage (pages viewed, rough location, device type). We don't use advertising trackers.
Third parties we rely on
- HM Land Registry Price Paid Data and UK House Price Index (sold prices and inflation modelling).
- ONS Price Index of Private Rents (rental benchmarks).
- Postcodes.io (postcode to local authority lookup).
- Our hosting and database provider, used to run the site and store the data described above.
- An AI provider used to generate the written market commentary. Only the property details needed to produce the commentary are sent.
How long we keep data
Valuation search records are retained for as long as they're useful for improving the service. Contact messages are kept for up to 24 months after we've replied, then deleted.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or to restrict how we use it. Because valuations are run anonymously there is usually nothing tied to you personally. For contact-form data, email us via the contact form and we'll action your request within 30 days.
You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page when our practices change. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.
